Beach House

Always imagined owning your own environmentally friendly, architecturally designed bach/house to put on your section somewhere in New Zealand? In conjunction with the Big Night In Telethon this is your chance!

The house is a collaboration between 32 Unitec students, currently enrolled in the Master of Architecture (Professional) course, under the guidance of lecturer Dave Strachan, and Strachan Group Architects (SGA).

Carters spokesbuilder and KidsCan ambassador, John 'Cocksy' Cocks, has led the building project.

The majority of building materials used have been kindly donated by Carters — Your Building Partner.

The auction is just for the house building itself but, for the build period, it is temporarily located on a section at Mangawhai Heads which is owned by Universal Homes. So, you'll appreciate that the house is just sitting on the site without permanent foundations, water, electricity drainage or any other connections.

But the land is for sale too, so if you want to buy it as well and make this your permanent getaway, you should contact Mike Scott from The Professionals in Mangawahi or 021 463 224. The main thing that we need to be very clear on is that this sella auction is just for the house building and, if you don't buy the land from Universal, you'll need to shift the building off the site at your cost within 3 months of winning the auction.
