Big Night In

It's been 15 years since New Zealand's iconic Telethon appeared on our screens raising money for all those great causes. Now the KidsCan StandTall Charitable Trust is bringing back Telethon. The 'Big Night In' in partnership with TV3, to benefit Kiwi Kids living in poverty.

Starting at 7.00 pm on Saturday the 8th of August on TV3, The 'Big Night In' — Telethon 2009 will be a 23 hour nonstop FUN-draiser. Tune in for exciting TV viewing. You won't want to miss this television extravaganza! The Big Night In Telethon will screen live from three main centers, the Alinghi Base in Auckland, the St James Theatre in Wellington and Whitebait Studios in Christchurch.

The Big Night In promises to bring back the traditional Telethon favourites such as the crazy dares and phone bank, along with other great nostalgia moments but all with a new 2009 Big Night In twist. The Big Night In will feature a line up of fantastic entertainment with a host of local and international celebrities getting involved to support the KidsCan StandTall Charitable Trust. Your business, school or community group can get involved by coming up with a fundraising activity to support children in need.

Auckland venue:

Open:	Saturday 6pm to Sunday 6pm August 8–9
Capacity:	400 people
Parking:	Sufficient parking should be available in adjoining streets
Public transport:	Buses marked "Downtown Viaduct Harbour" stop at Gaunt St, off Halsey St, a three minute walk
Note:	There may be a queue awaiting entry during peak times on Saturday night and again on Sunday afternoon. During these times we will admit groups of 300–400 people for an hour at a time. We would ask your patience if you do have to wait. We would further suggest that if you have been fundraising for us, you may find it easier to deposit this into your local ASB ahead of time, to save you having to bring heavy tins of money to Telethon!
