I remember loving the sound of the new total and trying to stay up all night but falling asleep in front of the TV. Martin Henderson — International Ambassador
Hi there I can remember being allowed to stay up all night to watch Telethon. That was a few years ago now but I can't wait to do it again. Julie — Auckland
Gee whiz this takes me back! The 8th & 9th are in my diary already. I am looking forward to the dares to see what crazy things people will do this time round. What a fantastic cause, I will be donating for sure and commend you for bringing back a television favourite!! CJF — Puhoi
I remember staying at my Nana and Poppas house with all of my cousins. We would live in the lounge for the duration of Telethon in our sleeping bags and PJ's with all of the best treat food ever!!! Our only exercise was jumping up to dance around to the "Thank you very much for your kind donation' song. Can't wait to re-live my childhood memories again… Shar Jones — Dairy Flat Auckland
Telethons of old bring back a sense of nostalgia for me, fun had for a good cause in a bygone era. In my family we were allowed to stay up and watch the whole thing. My mother says that I used to get excited when the totaliser board was updated and the lights would flash and the song was played! To me telethon was when we watched, we gave and wherever you were in New Zealand, you felt as if we were one community for one cause. I'm sure I'll be just as excited with the new totaliser board for the Big Night In! This country is full of big hearts, with big ideas and together I'm sure we'll give BIG.
